Still Room

Postby Longstrom » Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:19 pm

Hey Guys,

This is Pete I. I apologize for signing up earlier. I was wondering if the campaign was still going, and if it was, can I join? I'm the guy that plays the 1st Edition Marines, the Night Lords, and the Catachan Army (although I have a few other armies).

Let me know. Send me a private message if you want to communicate with me personally. Thanks.

I'm thinking of doing some code support for a campaign, so the administration can be done online. I'll post more when I make some progress.

Did this campaign work out? I haven't heard much about it, so I assume it just died. I think its a great idea though, as long as we don't have schedules for it. Unless it just takes forever, playing an invasion whenever the two players happen to get together would work fine. It'd just take a while between declaring the invasion and actually getting the results in. Have the Dogs of War ever had a successful campaign yet?

Threadnomancy:

* The Dogs of War are defunct.
* This campaign never started.
* I started my own campaign, which lasted four weeks.
* Many of the 40K players in the area don't play every week, and are thus not good members of a campaign.
* Never start a campaign or event at GK that doesn't involve a cash entry fee and prize support.

The concept was good but the local gamers are too casual to commit to a organized campaign. Also the interested parties were almost exclusively SM players so it really lacked diversity and didn't spark interest.

We tried to make it teams so it would allow more flexibility in terms of making matchups but as Ghost points out most players can't make it out every week so it never got past the planning stages.
They are the warriors of myth, the Sons of Fenris and of Leman Russ and in their wake legends are born.
