| 30 Operation Care & Comfort 40k Charity Tournament 10:00AM Outside of the grim-dark 41st millennium, we love and support all of our troops at home and abroad. With that in mind, Game Kastle is hosting a special charity 40k tournament for Operation Care & Comfort, an organization that sends care packages to soldiers, veterans and their families. We will be charging a $7 entry fee for prize support for participants in the tournament, but we are asking each participant to bring at least one item to be donated to OC&C. We are looking at additional methods to reward those who bring in a substantial amount of goods. So join Game Kastle June 30th for a day filled with awesomely fun 40k battles for a great cause!
http://www.occ-usa.org/
Below is a note from our TO clarifying the kind of donation items we are looking for, as well as an anecdote about how important OC&C has been for him during his service:
”Hey guys, this is Grant here your local Eldar guy I just wanted to tell you about the next big tournament that I am going to run at Game Kastle. It's going to be a great event that anyone can participate in, im really excited cause it's giving back to a great cause.
When I was deployed last year, being away from my family and friends back home took a real toll on me, and the things I took for granted always having growing up weren't there. It was definitely very hard to keep positive, but it was about my third week there my unit received an extremely large package that brightened our hopes. Inside were letters, pictures, and all kinds of things we hadn't seen since we left. There was candy, pudding, nature bars, cookies, mac and cheese, breakfast cereal and other things that we loved to eat. It made us feel like we're back home. Being the medic for my marines I know how much it means to stay focused and positive, because someone that breaks is a hazard to himself and everyone in the unit. These packages meant so much too us, they kept morale up and made my marines feel like people still appreciated what we were doing.
So guys this tournament is going to be a special one, it's going to be for a great cause. At the tournament, I'm asking that you bring your usual army, books, lists, and mojo but also a few things to donate to our troops. Two weeks after the tournament on July 14th I will take all the donations down to the American Legion and with the help of Operation Care and Comfort I'll box them up to send to the troops. Again this is something that a lot of troops look forward to each month, not only does it raise morale but it's also something that every solider, sailor, airmen and marine smiles over.”
Date: June 30th
Start Time: 10am
Max: 26 people
Entry Fee: $7+ donation items. Minimum 1 donation item per participant.
Prizes: Entry Fees will be converted to GK gift cards and will be awarded to participants, including a best painted award. Further prizes for large amounts of donated goods to be determined.

Warhammer 40k Tournament
Basics
1750 points
WYSIWYG
painting not required
*all models must be assembled*
No: Forgeworld, Mysterious Terrain, Mysterious Objectives
Fortifications are allowed, but must be assembled.
Entry Fee: $10
Prizes: Gift Cards based on participation to top placing players, as well as raffled prizes courtesy of Powered Play!
Round Length: 2hr 15min
Players are required to have personal copies of their codex, two copies of their army list, and all necessary templates, tape measurers and dice.
Scoring
Scoring: Each Round will feature two scenarios from the core rulebook. Participants will earn a number of victory points off of these scenarios, which will be used to determine their tournament standing as follows:
Win: 3pts
Draw: 1pt ea
Loss: 0pts
Accumulated Scenario VPs will be used to break ties. We will have a score sheet to help keep track of these.
Scenarios
Each scenario is built using two book missions played simultaneously with all 3 book bonus points. Each mission is distinct, for example, Heavy Support units in Big Guns Never Tire can not take the Relic. Winning one mission earns that player its points. If a mission is tied, neither player earns the points. Any bonus points earned via Warlord traits, etc. apply to the primary mission only. For example, if your Warlord becomes a scoring unit, that will only apply to the primary mission.
In the Scouring, each player places 2 objectives in their opponents deployment zone and 1 outside of either players deployment zone following normal objective placement rules (6 total on the board for the Scouring). Each player has a 1, 2, and 3 point objective, which are revealed just before the role to seize the initiative as normal. You will end up with 2 objectives in no mans land, and 2 in each deployment zone. Destroying fast attack choices counts for points to this mission.
In Big Guns Never Tire, each player places 2 objectives, one in their own deployment zone, the other in their opponents following normal objective placement rules (4 total for this objective on the table). You will end up with 2 in each deployment zone. Destroying Heavy Support choices counts for points to this mission.
Book bonus points are added to the total, not to each mission. For example, if you win the Primary mission, lose the Secondary Mission, and get First Blood, Slay the Warlord, but not Linebreaker, you would have scored 6 points total (4 for primary, 0 for secondary and 2 of the 3 book bonus points for 6 total).
Scenario 1: Emperors Will (4pts) and Crusade (3pts): Dawn of War Deployment. There are always 3 Crusade Objectives placed outside of either players deployment zone. Emperors Will objectives are placed in each players own deployment zone.
Scenario 2: The Relic (4pts) and Big Guns Never Tire (3pts): Vanguard Strike Deployment. There are always 4 objectives for Big Guns Never Tire. See scenario guidelines.
Scenario 3: Purge the Alien (4pts) and The Scouring (3pts): Vanguard Strike Deployment. There are always 6 objectives for The Scouring, 2 of which must always go outside either players deployment zone. See scenario guidelines.
Mission Order of Operations
1.Roll for Warlord Traits and generate Psychic powers. Each player rolls 1D6, chooses any of the three Warlord Traits with that number for their trait. If rolling from a codex Warlord Table, roll for the power as normal.
2.Roll for Night Fighting.
3.Roll for Sides. The player rolling highest chooses their deployment zone (but does not yet deploy their army, as normal) and deploys any Fortifications. The player going second then does the same.
4.Place objectives, with the player that chose their deployment zone first, placing the first objective. This can be any objective. The Relic automatically goes in the middle and is placed before any other objectives.
5.Roll for first turn as normal, following book guidelines for deploying forces, reserves, Seize the Imitative, etc.
Schedule:
Registration: 10am-11am
Round 1: 11:15-1:30
Lunch: 1:30-2:15
Round 2: 2:30-4:45

Operation Care & Comfort 40k Charity Tournament
Outside of the grim-dark 41st millennium, we love and support all of our troops at home and abroad.
