Game Kastle (Santa Clara)
Holy cow this place has so many modeling supplies. I absolutely love their inventory. They also have a huge gaming space. The staff was very nice to me and we joked around a little bit. A great place for tabletop hobbyists and board gamers.

The more I visit other game stores, the more I appreciate this one. Friendly people, good atmosphere, has events, and best of all for me... Pokemon at msrp. Yep, you can buy the latest boosters here for $4.

Excellent source for board games and 40k. Wish their stock of books was a bit more comprehensive but this is the best hobby shop in the sj area.

This place is tabletop game madness! The staff here is friendly and super helpful with a plethora of knowledge that they’re willing to share about all of the games in the store. There are multiple areas to play in, some that are free and others that are available to reserve and rent. They have a schedule full of fun and interesting things to do in the store that is updated regularly. The facilities are kept clean and tidy, and the shelves stocked. If you’re looking to get miniatures for your game night or a gift for someone who likes boardgames, this is the place to go.

Full support of all current games. Good backup supplies, paint, groundwork and the like. When I was trying to gather everything up for a move, the staff collected boxes and provided most of my move. That's going above and beyond at current box prices they saved me a few hundred bucks. There were a lot of boxes. This and the support from all there made my life happy in a time of stress. Will miss my Friday night ASL games.

This is probably one of the better game stores in the Bay Area. They don't have all games, but they have quite a few, although only a limited number of each. They have a gaming room as well, but I'm not sure how often it is used nowadays, with the sars-cov-2 virus going around.

HALEY NEEDS A RAISE!! My son placed an order online and submitted before I was able to look it over, needless to say there were errors. I reached out to the phone number listed for online sales/orders and live chat with no repose. I took a chance and called the Santa Clara store and got Haley, she was AMAZING! In a time where we have employment shortages everywhere and people are fried! (especially in the retail workforce) Haley took the time to help with with my online order, and even called me back to let us know she got it fixed. If she is not a manager, make her one STAT!

Game Kastle (Reno)
A good selection of board games and mini paints for sale. Very friendly service when we went in last week looking for paint brushes.
December Cuccaro — 4 months ago
The single cleanest, most welcoming game store in all of Reno. Lots open play space, plenty of free events, and even during Pandemic shortages Dave will do his best to get you the supplies to game (Even if he ends up unable to find them). They have the best miniature paint selection out of any store in town, and a wide variety of supported products. Dave is a really cool guy with a down-to-earth but very professionao demeanor. His employees are also incredibly knowledgeable, and have helped me find several alternatives to paints and shades that are hard to get in this global shortage. The store is ALWAYs well-kept. No stacks of comic books strewn about tables. No piles of MTG cards all over the place. No piles of old promotional stuff or ancient unsold product in the corners. I really does stand out from any other single LGS in town.

Fenomenal place! Dave, the owner, is one of the nicest people I've ever met. They have a large selection of games and host weekly gatherings for MTG. I’m sure they do other stuff as well. Everyone is extremely friendly and courteous. You definitely need to check this place out!

When I tell you this place is a massive haven for tabletop enjoyers of all games and player types, I feel like.i'm underselling it. There's a ton of space for activities! The manager Dave is a sweetheart who really enjoys the store and all the hobbies. There's board games, several popular card games, miniatures and hobby paints, RPG books, and tons more! And did I mention all the space to play these games in? Do yourself a favor and stop by, say hello to the super friendly staff, and support this local business.

Friendly staff, and open later than most other games stores, so you can get games in after work if you want. Huge selection of boards games and a decent selection of miniatures as well. Would recommend checking out.

When they were first open. Nice friendly. Then more distant and pushier for certain games. Seems to go along with what Youtube promotes.

Just went to Warhammer Escalation League and GK was a great host!! What a great place to play and purchase 😁

This store is a wonderful new addition to Reno's hobby community. Their friendly staff is very knowledgeable about the impressive selection of board games they have in stock. And, of even greater interest to myself personally, they also stock a wide variety of paints and terrain making products, far larger than that of any other hobby store I have yet encountered in the Reno area. This Game Kastle is a very well run store, and I highly any encourage any fellow hobby enthusiasts to give it a look!

Game Kastle (Sacramento)
Been here a few times and the staff isn’t very good. There knowledge of games seems limited. I’m not sure if there staff is new or what but they need more training on product and there own system . Waited for 20 mins to have there manager tell me I couldn’t buy something that should of been released today because they didn’t know how to add it to there system. Your better off spending your money at Great escape games or best there is . This store won’t be getting any money from me.

Joey runs a fantastic store here that has a really strong community and tons going on every week. The game and miniatures selection is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. Lost of open tables for gaming. They also have rentable gaming space if you want something private.

1. Colin is amazing. 2. they're always super welcoming super sweet and great at explaining things to newbies and making the whole gaming experience less intimidating. 3. Highly recommend commander night, the point system keeps things fair and keeps people playing the game even if they're not 'winning'.

We continue to enjoy this most excellent hobby and game shop. All through the pandemic they have stuck it out, following mandates and keeping things clean while staying open to serve us. That's huge! Thank you, Game Kastle, for creating a great place for the hobby and game community to get supplies and gather for games!

Great game store! Lots of warhammer abd board game products. Plenty of game space too (and a good sized war game area too). Ive brought my daughter in twice now with one of her board games, and shes loved it. Staff are always nice and helpful, and you can tell they are excited to see kids coming in.

Great selection of games both big AND small. They have a ton of 2 player smaller games and I really appreciate that. Friendly service always helps too.

Game Kastle (Redwood City)
This store is the best place in the area to buy board and card games. Their selection of games for all interests and age groups is impressive. They have a wide variety of modeling equipment, paints, miniature terrain pieces, and models. If you’re looking for roleplaying games, they have the widest catalog I’ve seem in a store. This, in combination with their amazingly helpful and knowledgeable staff and their many fun events makes them, undoubtedly, the best game store around.
Colin (Colin Urmson) — 3 months ago
Lots of boardgames of various popularity and year of release. Super helpful that everything is alphabetical if you know what you are looking for. Perhaps a little overwhelming to browse, but employees are happy to help if you know what type of game you're interested in playing.

Very bad service. Workers were extremely rude and insulting. The store itself smelled very bad. The board games were missing pieces inside. Terrible business all around. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who respects the gaming culture to be within 10 feet of this disgraceful store.

Really big game store with lots of gaming tables. Huge selection of games and miniatures. Biggest range of paints, weathering effects and brushes I've seen. Tons of MIG. AK interactive, citadel

My husband and I stopped here last night around 7pm to pick up a copy of the “Age of Rebellion” rpg book since the Fremont store wasn’t carrying any. Very nice selection of Warhammer miniatures and dice as expected. Board games were definitely fun to browse thru. We’re hoping to pick up Monster Baby Rescue sometime since it reminded me of my husband’s dnd dream. Huge selection of miniatures— the hell hounds one caught my eye first. (There were three in the package too). Also, my husband noticed the plush d20s :). Overall, very nice Kastle of games.

Wonderful huge well lit gaming space for community gathering! Bring your own or borrow games. Tons of excellent merchandise for miniature painting and board games. Keep local stores alive, play and buy from where you live! And no I don't work for them :)

Im a magic player so I can speak mostly on that. It was a great drafting environment, tons of room in a huge building. Rounds started on time and the owners seemed friendly. The magic crowd seemed nicer than in other places I’ve been. Very egalitarian prize support. The store has lots of board games and tables with rpgs set up, so something for everyone.

Game Kastle (Fremont)
So I just attended the prerelease of Kamigawa here on Friday night. The experience was really horrible and showed how this store eagerly wants to exploit its customers. First of all, the usual cost of a prerelease is 30 dollars, they charged 35. Second, the designated time of the prerelease was 7:00pm. They started not untold 7:44, because it took super long to collect payment from everyone. Third, there was not a judge on this event. When there was ambiguity in specific rules the manager was not able to answer. Last, but not least, I went 2-1 but only got a set booster pack for prize. I was really confused as I thought there was a misunderstanding when the prize was givens to me. As it turned out, everyone got a attendance price for a set booster. This is so much pettiness as they charged 5$ more than retail. I’m not here do cast shade upon the staff there. It is the owners problem. I don’t think this store will exist long term because it is beakkng trust and bond between itself and its costumer. I am a Fremont local but sadly this is my last time visiting this store haha. Enjoy

Finally a game store with more than Warhammer. Not much of a crowd when I visited. Great selection of paint and supplies. Will definitely be back

Place was pretty sweet. The people there are nice and not pushy. They have new school and old school dragon shields. Singles and all kinds of other board games, 40k stuff, playing sections. Cool store.

Great staff. Answered all questions. Best part is the game room area where you can demo their stash of games. We tried out a few games with our 5 year old, seeing what she liked and could grasp. Will definitely go back.

By far the best game store I've ever been to! Great staff, great business model, huge selection of games, and filled with like minded people! Whenever I'm in town this is a must stop place! Also has free games to play and sample while you're there!

Very diverse selection of D&D, Warhammer and Star Wars legion items. They have a nice selection of paints. We had no problem with parking. I am a little disappointed that they don’t carry Gundam

Great place for picking up the latest expansion for your favorite board game or look for new ones. The staff is attentive and knows their stuff. Has some Magic but it is not their main focus. Has additional locations in Santa Clara and Mt View.

Game Kastle Austin
This store is practically in my backyard and I couldn't be happier. The store is sparkling clean and there is layout is really nice. Some crazy person even alphabetized all of the shelves (thank you) and the game selection is top-notch. There are tons of miniatures to browse and an impressive selection of paints. The dice display is brilliant and they even had the miniature-European sized card sleeves that I needed to get Spirit Island fully sleeved. There is a ton of gaming space featuring several different table styles and the layout is such that you can game comfortably distanced from other groups. If all this wasn't enough to convince you to shop here, the staff is super accommodating and chill. I'm excited to go back.

Amazing store! Lots of diverse products! They have free play tables and private rooms are also free! They have snacks and drinks available to purchase but you can also bring in food and drinks! Masks are optional! Love this place!

Good terrain for gaming, good selection of hobby equipment and supplies. Some of the staff is friendlier than others, but I've always had someone greet me coming through the door. The dog is a huge selling point in the store.

This is a great game store! I love the large playing area they have and their friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have lots of events going on every day of the week for various tabletop games including Magic: The Gathering!
MTG Marco — 3 weeks ago
Top notch store with a great team of Kings of War players calling this place home! Also: "Masks do nothing except hold germs in them!" is an outright misrepresentation of the facts. That comment spreads misinformation. It should be removed as both irrelevant to the store's rating and vapid, rhetorical, and potentially harmful nonsense.

Love Game Kastle! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, prices are fair, and they continue to put customer and staff safety first in these uncertain times. Always better to be safe than sorry, and their dedication to this principal is great to see!

I used to like this shop until they started selling certain TCG products at ridiculous prices. For example, who in their right mind is going to buy Cryptid Nation 2nd Ed boxes at $150 a pop when they are bountifully available at $85 almost anywhere else? If you ask why they will just say “it’s market price” when clearly it is not if you do your research. I do not recommend buying sealed product here, make sure to shop around.

What a hidden gem! They have more supplies for minis than I have seen in any other store in Austin- bases, grasses, paints. Gorgeous selections of dice. An area where you can play games. And it feel very safe with current covid times- they have hand sanitizer to put on when you enter the store and even extra face masks if you don't have one with you for some reason. The person working today was very friendly and helpful too. I'm excited to paint minis there once it's a bit safer.
