Game Kastle (Santa Clara)
Happily been to other locations and had a great experience. This one has one of the best selections of games, but the service was a bit unfriendly. The guy behind the counter seemed inconvenienced by having to ring up my items and when I asked how much one of the items on display near the register was, he said “I don’t know.” Just got kinda a weird vibe. Once again, selection was top notch, but I think I’ll be sticking to the other location for now.

This place is tabletop game madness! The staff here is friendly and super helpful with a plethora of knowledge that they’re willing to share about all of the games in the store. There are multiple areas to play in, some that are free and others that are available to reserve and rent. They have a schedule full of fun and interesting things to do in the store that is updated regularly. The facilities are kept clean and tidy, and the shelves stocked. If you’re looking to get miniatures for your game night or a gift for someone who likes boardgames, this is the place to go.

They have a great cross section of games, paints and additional resources for your tabletop gaming needs. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable!

Helpful staff, diverse but spotty collection, with emphasis on war games. In non-war games they had several very new releases but didn't have popular base games for which they had the extension.

An excellent game store with plenty of gaming space, a well-stacked selection, and a good variety of games played out back.

Would be 5 stars if they had a few products in the Warhammer 40k realm in stock. But I found several very cool products that I didn't realize I wanted. True rating would be 4.8/5 imo.

Holy cow this place has so many modeling supplies. I absolutely love their inventory. They also have a huge gaming space. The staff was very nice to me and we joked around a little bit. A great place for tabletop hobbyists and board gamers.

Game Kastle (Reno)
Great games store, lots of board games, some very niche ones too. Hosts a boardgame night Mondays and Saturdays. Lots of terrain available for wargaming and a decently large playspace. A metric ton of model painting supplies and space set aside for painting with lights and other helpful tools. I'm here regularly if you need help or company for your paint projects. Some other cool things, hosts events for My Hero Academia CCG on Saturday's and their selection of Magic the Gathering merchandise doesn't get picked over too badly so can find gems that other stores don't have. (But now that it's in a review... better hurry) Last but not least the owner offers PLA 3d printing on-site. All in all love this store.

Great tabletop game store with friendly, inviting staff and good assortment of board games, rpg games, and ccg's. Very clean, brightly lit play area. Lots of scheduled games, great place to play, worth the visit!

Friendly staff, and open later than most other games stores, so you can get games in after work if you want. Huge selection of boards games and a decent selection of miniatures as well. Also has the best lighting of the local stores, and a good regular magic group. Would recommend checking out.

Is the perfect small hobby shop. Friendly staff good gaming community and a clean shop

Kind of bummed. More for table top gaming get togethers than an actual store. Had lots of board games (like basic ones) and a few RPG figures but I found the selection severely lacking.

When I tell you this place is a massive haven for tabletop enjoyers of all games and player types, I feel like.i'm underselling it. There's a ton of space for activities! The manager Dave is a sweetheart who really enjoys the store and all the hobbies. There's board games, several popular card games, miniatures and hobby paints, RPG books, and tons more! And did I mention all the space to play these games in? Do yourself a favor and stop by, say hello to the super friendly staff, and support this local business.

Came across as snooty gamers. Probably, not intentional but definitely could have been more helpful. Felt like the "comic book guy"

The single cleanest, most welcoming game store in all of Reno. Lots open play space, plenty of free events, and even during Pandemic shortages Dave will do his best to get you the supplies to game (Even if he ends up unable to find them). They have the best miniature paint selection out of any store in town, and a wide variety of supported products. Dave is a really cool guy with a down-to-earth but very professionao demeanor. His employees are also incredibly knowledgeable, and have helped me find several alternatives to paints and shades that are hard to get in this global shortage. The store is ALWAYs well-kept. No stacks of comic books strewn about tables. No piles of MTG cards all over the place. No piles of old promotional stuff or ancient unsold product in the corners. I really does stand out from any other single LGS in town.

First time here. Great vibe. Cool staff. Gamers heaven. Came on a Saturday so there were lots of table top RPG's going on. If you don't have enough room for your gamers at your place you can rent a good spot here. Or recruit players ($30 for 4 hours) Plenty of stock and the usual prices on products. It was fun!

Great place to play Magic, The Gathering. I regularly play here during their Tuesday night commander tournaments. Good crowd and cool people to play with. The manager is pretty cool, he knows his stuff and he is very focused on building the Magic community. They have a lot of different boosters to choose from, but not many singles to choose from. Their tournaments are different in that they use score sheets to earn points for game actions and discourages infinite combos. One of my favorite places to play.

What a cool store. I liked the swap meet happening in the store although it seemed to draw the attention of the staff away from the customer service. I asked about a game and without looking up the clerk pointed to an aisle and stated it was in the middle somewhere. The game did not exist in the store or I could not find it with the clerks instructions. We have stores like this in my town but it is nice to see them in my home town after being away for 12 years.

Overall a good store. I personally am a DND guy and their DND merch is a little lacking. But friendly atmosphere and they have many game tables to play at. Snacks are a bit pricey also.

Went for a game night, didn't buy anything so I can't say anything about their selection. Plenty of space though and they didn't mind outside food.

Joey runs a fantastic store here that has a really strong community and tons going on every week. The game and miniatures selection is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. Lost of open tables for gaming. They also have rentable gaming space if you want something private.

We continue to enjoy this most excellent hobby and game shop. All through the pandemic they have stuck it out, following mandates and keeping things clean while staying open to serve us. That's huge! Thank you, Game Kastle, for creating a great place for the hobby and game community to get supplies and gather for games!

The manager, Greg Nunes is awesome! He is both knowledgeable and helpful. The staff is fantastic as well. The store has a wide variety of games as well as tables for community game play. I highly recommend going to this store to meet all of your gaming needs. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not a lot board gam options, but decent library. You can bring and play your own game as well, and they also have playable library (which consists around 20 games?).

Wonderful huge well lit gaming space for community gathering! Bring your own or borrow games. Tons of excellent merchandise for miniature painting and board games. Keep local stores alive, play and buy from where you live! And no I don't work for them :)

Im a magic player so I can speak mostly on that. It was a great drafting environment, tons of room in a huge building. Rounds started on time and the owners seemed friendly. The magic crowd seemed nicer than in other places I’ve been. Very egalitarian prize support. The store has lots of board games and tables with rpgs set up, so something for everyone.

I was just visiting San Francisco and came across Game Kastle to look for Warhammer. I found Age of sigmar dominion for 50% of the price. I paid a total of 110 for it. A really good price. I would highly recommend going here to catch the good deal!

Really big game store with lots of gaming tables. Huge selection of games and miniatures. Biggest range of paints, weathering effects and brushes I've seen. Tons of MIG. AK interactive, citadel

Decent store especially now that they cleaned up the storefront. Tables for players but climate control in the player area is hit and miss and it gets really loud when it’s busy! Has great selection of board games paints and hobby materials

This store is the best place in the area to buy board and card games. Their selection of games for all interests and age groups is impressive. They have a wide variety of modeling equipment, paints, miniature terrain pieces, and models. If you’re looking for roleplaying games, they have the widest catalog I’ve seem in a store. This, in combination with their amazingly helpful and knowledgeable staff and their many fun events makes them, undoubtedly, the best game store around.

Place was pretty sweet. The people there are nice and not pushy. They have new school and old school dragon shields. Singles and all kinds of other board games, 40k stuff, playing sections. Cool store.

Great staff. Answered all questions. Best part is the game room area where you can demo their stash of games. We tried out a few games with our 5 year old, seeing what she liked and could grasp. Will definitely go back.

By far the best game store I've ever been to! Great staff, great business model, huge selection of games, and filled with like minded people! Whenever I'm in town this is a must stop place! Also has free games to play and sample while you're there!

So I just attended the prerelease of Kamigawa here on Friday night. The experience was really horrible and showed how this store eagerly wants to exploit its customers. First of all, the usual cost of a prerelease is 30 dollars, they charged 35. Second, the designated time of the prerelease was 7:00pm. They started not untold 7:44, because it took super long to collect payment from everyone. Third, there was not a judge on this event. When there was ambiguity in specific rules the manager was not able to answer. Last, but not least, I went 2-1 but only got a set booster pack for prize. I was really confused as I thought there was a misunderstanding when the prize was givens to me. As it turned out, everyone got a attendance price for a set booster. This is so much pettiness as they charged 5$ more than retail. I’m not here do cast shade upon the staff there. It is the owners problem. I don’t think this store will exist long term because it is beakkng trust and bond between itself and its costumer. I am a Fremont local but sadly this is my last time visiting this store haha. Enjoy

A great selection with a matching atmosphere. The employees were extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Whether you're searching for a specific tabletop game, supplies to paint your miniatures, or just a place to gather with fellow nerds they have you covered.

Game Kastle is a great game store with a welcoming community. I enjoy painting miniatures there and they’ve got an active miniature wargame scene and tons of painting supplies. CCGs, RPGs, board games… they’ve got a bit of everything.

This store is practically in my backyard and I couldn't be happier. The store is sparkling clean and there is layout is really nice. Some crazy person even alphabetized all of the shelves (thank you) and the game selection is top-notch. There are tons of miniatures to browse and an impressive selection of paints. The dice display is brilliant and they even had the miniature-European sized card sleeves that I needed to get Spirit Island fully sleeved. There is a ton of gaming space featuring several different table styles and the layout is such that you can game comfortably distanced from other groups. If all this wasn't enough to convince you to shop here, the staff is super accommodating and chill. I'm excited to go back.

I came here to pick up painting supplies for my partner and the staff here was so great. I usually get a little scared and confused in these places cause minis aren't my own hobby but it was really easy to find what I wanted. I also appreciate them being open so close to the holidays. I had an Amazon order disappear on me so being able to replace some of it was a big relief.

The store is tucked away in the strip mall it’s in but once inside the space is expansive! They have a varied and unique assortment of board games that are organized by genre of games which helps me find new games to explore. All of the staff is knowledgeable about different aspects in the store which is extremely helpful and there are is an event going on every day of the week! Can’t wait to come back!

A group of us girls got together to go to an open board game night, and we had a great time! Everyone here was so kind and welcoming. It was also my first time seeing a store have tables made for RPGs, and they even have a collection of miniatures to use!
